We are going to focus on brain-based memory techniques for the rest of the semester. Please watch this Youtube video and I challenge you to try this method the next time you have to memorize vocabulary. Please leave me feedback whether you succeed or not!
I chose to teach UN100 because I was first in my family to graduate from college and didn't have any positive role models while I navigated through high school and college (except for my awesome French teacher!). When I first arrived to the NMU campus in the Fall of 1988, I was lost and I almost failed my first semester. I feel that most students are told to "go to college" but really don't know what that entails. I have dedicated my career to these types of students. I look beyond appearances and love to interact with different types of people. I taught high school French and English for 10 years before moving back to Marquette. I'm currently a Counselor for Upward Bound. I love teaching - it's what I do, and my "at-risk" students are the closest to my heart. I just finished my Master's degree in Secondary Education, and I am so excited to pass on my knowledge. Oh, and I LOVE to snowboard - been doing it since high school!
